Chamber Honors Companies for Adding, Retaining Jobs

A dozen companies were honored by the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber for helping attract and retain jobs last year.
The companies, which included Ford Motor Co. and Tata Consultancy Services, were given the chamber's annual Growth Awards at a ceremony Tuesday.
Tata was recognized for its $13 million investment in a new facility in Clermont County, which is projected to bring 1,000 new jobs. Ford was honored for building a $200 million transmission plant in Sharonville that will keep 1,400 jobs.
Also honored were Amylin Pharmaceuticals, which is investing $400 million in a new manufacturing center in West Chester that is expected to bring 500 jobs; Sogeti USA, an information technology firm that expanded in Blue Ash last year with 100 new workers; and First Group America, the parent company of Greyhound Bus Lines, which kept its headquarters downtown after being courted by other regions.
Stress Engineering Services, which is building a 31,000-square-foot office and laboratory complex in Mason, was also given an award, as was Multicolor Corp., a company that makes labels for consumer products and last year bought a 247,000-square-foot building in Clermont County that will support 83 new jobs.
Paul Hemmer Cos. Invested $6 million in a new, 36,000-square-foot medical office facility in Deerfield Township and was honored, along with Toyota Boshoku America, which is building a headquarters in Northern Kentucky that will house 100 new employees.
Rounding out the list were Wild Flavors, which last year bought 40 acres in Erlanger for a new laboratory and created 175 new jobs; Vandercar Holdings, which is developing a 430-acre industrial park in Monroe; and Omya Industries, which moved its North American headquarters to Blue Ash from Vermont.
